Water Resource

The importance of Water resource

  • Water is the most essential thing that all people, animals, and plants need to survive.

  • People use water in their daily lives through drinking, cooking, bathing, brushing teeth, washing clothes, dishes, and cars, flushing toilets, watering gardens and lawns, and filling swimming pools.

  • Water is the home to thousands of fish and marine species, and water is also essential for agriculture and development.

  • Water is important for a sustainable future and to efforts of sustainable water management are important to conserve and protect water resources, which are limited on the earth.

The Challenges Faced

  • Water is not an infinite resource as its abundance is not unlimited. 97% of the world’s water is seawater, which is in the oceans and has a high salt content.
  • The water that people drink is fresh water. Most of the fresh water in the world is frozen in large glaciers, and the fresh water that is available for people is in soil and rock below the surface, or in rivers and lakes.
  • The challenge of ensuring everyone has water and water doesn’t hard out economy and society is significant.
  • Challenges of scarcity, cleanliness, low environmental impact, water pollution, floods, water logging, salty water, droughts, political disruptions, and arguments over water rights are some of the challenges facing our water resources.
